ScanMenu AI ("we", "our app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

1. Data we collect

• Account: email, first name, encrypted password.
• Health profile: allergies, dietary preferences, medical conditions you enter.
• Menu and meal photos: sent to our AI analysis service and deleted from our servers after processing.
• Meal log: stored locally on your device and synced with your account.
• Community posts: visible to other users if you choose to share.

2. Use

We use your data solely to operate the app: analyzing menus, personalizing recommendations, managing your account. No selling to third parties.

3. Processors

• Anthropic / OpenAI: AI analysis of menus and meals (transit only, no retention).
• Supabase: database hosting and authentication.
• Replit: application server hosting.

4. Your rights (GDPR)

You can access, modify, export or delete your data at any time from the "Edit Profile" screen or by contacting us.

5. Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Account deletion permanently deletes your data within 30 days.

6. Security

All communications are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed. Analysis endpoints are protected by authentication.

7. Minors

Service available to people aged 13 or older.
